Rant: Shitty Tesco Vouchers

By James Hill at 29 Jan 21:50

The other day I went to tesco on Portobello road to pick up some soup for lunch. Standing in the queue we waited as this woman at the front of the queue handed over her tesco club vouchers. Low and behold the cashier wasn't authorized to accept this form of currency and called her busy store manager to come assist.

Of course she couldn't come immediately so we were forced to wait for this most stupid form of beauacracy. The customer was annoyed, the customers waiting were annoyed. The cashier was so frustrated to the point where she exclaimed "I can fucking stand this job anymore". The store manager was annoyed as her already incredibly busy day got just that little more unbearable.

All for what? Competitive advantage?

50 points off one letter placement. The 'X' tile on a triple letter played twice with O to the top, and O to the left.

So in a world where every stock drops, one still goes up.

summer is rapidly drawing to a close

By James Hill at 09 Jan 03:40

spidey

My furry little friend above hangs upside down from the roof, he overlooks the Whitsunday islands and his summer will probably last indefinitely, however mine is rapidly drawing to a close, tomorrow night I'll make my way back to Sydney for two brief sleeps then I'll hop on a plane ready for work Monday morning in London, battling the peak hour tube suicides, slushy roads and depressingly short days.

The bright side to London is the gorgeously dressed women wearing their big buttoned coats and long boots... mmm... (what... what am I talking about, the girls here are wearing bikini's if that!) ahh... well sometimes it's best left to the imagination.

Seeya soon friendly English customs officials!

Back in Sydney

By James Hill at 26 Dec 05:42

Well I've made it through the malaria infested parts of South East Asia alive, although I'll have to wait another twelve months before I'm totally in the clear.

Now comes the daunting task of culling around 3,000 photos and processing them ready for viewage on flickr. Here are some favourites so far.

River to Phenom Penh

Ta Prohm

Hope everyone had a glutenous christmas and looking forward to a prosperous new year, all the best to everyone!

And a quick pimp for my sis Katrina who has just recently launched her website.

the last weekend before south east asia

By James Hill at 26 Nov 11:11

SoBo @ the lucy naughton exhibition

My last weekend before heading off to south east asia saw me rushing around frantically trying to pick up a new camera bag, general nick nacks (ear plugs, emodium, malaria tabs). I did however get the chance to stop by Lucy Naugton's exhibition at a SoBo (a café gallery near London Bridge). Which was pretty exciting as I'd been an avid follower of her flickr work. It didn't disappoint and neither did the coffee.
